The Match:Boarding school admissions has all the urgency and suspense of matchmaking. Sometimes it's love at first sight. Sometimes it takes a little longer. Sometimes it's obvious on first contact that a different match makes more sense for both parties.
Your job in the admissions process is to find the right school for you; our job is to choose, from among hundreds of qualified applicants, the students we think are most likely to thrive in and contribute something important to the community of Proctor. These are individuals who demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to work.
Our process presents an opportunity for an applicant to reflect upon skills, interests, accomplishments, and aspirations. Does that mean there is a "typical" Proctor student? Fortunately, no - or Proctor would be a horribly dull place. You know your own strengths and potential; we know the strengths and potential of Proctor. When we both find the right match, great things happen.
We’re pleased that you’re applying to Proctor and we look forward to reading your application and to meeting with you. At Proctor, we realize that this may be your first time applying to a school, so please feel free to call admissions. In the meantime, here’s some extra help:
Step 1: Interview• Make an appointment to visit our campus by calling the Admission Office at (603) 735-6212. Because the best time to visit Proctor is during our
academic day, appointments are available, Monday through Friday, except during vacation and examination periods.
Step 2: Application• Application for Admission - Parts A & B should be sent to the Admission Office by February 1st.
• Include the $50 nonrefundable fee, or $100 for residents of countries outside of North America.

Step 3: Transcript and Recommendation Forms• Distribute the five individual reference forms. The official transcript should include first marking period or trimester grades. All offers of admission are conditional pending final grades.
Step 4: Required Testing• Register to take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) at a test center near your home. Registration information is available at
www.ssat.org or by calling (609) 683-4440. Proctor's SSAT Code number is 5914.
Proctor considers your SSAT results in the context of your entire application folder; we do not limit ourselves to a minimum cutoff or to an overall median.• Students for whom English is a second language are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Information is available at
www.ets.org or by calling (609) 951-1100.
Step 4a: Learning Skills Testing Requirements • Recent psycho-educational testing, such as a WISC, WIAT, Woodcock-Johnson or a language evaluation must be provided in the application process. Please refer to the Learning Skills section on our website for more information on the program.
Step 5: Notification: • Students will be notified of admission on March 10th.
• Accepted applicants must confirm their intention to enroll, in writing, by April 10th.
• Applications received after February 1st are considered on a rolling admission basis. As soon as an applicant's file is complete, it is reviewed by the Admission Committee. Accepted students have two weeks to confirm their intention to enroll in writing.
